During my first term, I’ve worked hard to keep that promise. My focus has been on getting things done for our community, protecting taxpayers, and making sure the Town of Elmira has a seat at the table in county government.
I believe local government should focus on the things residents actually see and use. That means our parks, our pool, our equipment, our roads, and the services families rely on.
During my first term, I helped secure funding for several local priorities, including:
Security lighting at Pirozzolo Park to improve visibility and help make the park safer for families, athletes, and residents.
A new pool canopy to give children, families, and residents a better experience at the Town of Elmira pool.
Repairs to the Town of Elmira bucket loader, a key piece of equipment used for town maintenance and public works.
These may not be flashy projects, but they matter. They are the kinds of improvements that help a community run better and make everyday life a little easier for residents.
I believe elected officials should be careful with taxpayer money and lead by example.
That is why I voted NO on pay raises for County Legislators.
I also served on the Chemung County Budget Committee, where I helped review spending requests, funding priorities, and community-development items. My goal has been to make sure county dollars are spent responsibly and focused on real needs.
Taxpayers work hard for their money. County government should treat those dollars with respect.
I also voted YES for term limits in Chemung County government.
I supported term limits because I believe public office belongs to the people. Term limits help bring in new ideas, keep government accountable, and remind elected officials that they are there to serve residents — not themselves.
Roads, public facilities, and county infrastructure are some of the most important responsibilities of local government.
During my first term, I supported county efforts for road reconstruction and resurfacing, helping move forward needed investments in our roads.
I also supported Park Station dam improvements, an important project for one of Chemung County’s public recreation areas.
Through my service on the Highway Committee and Buildings and Grounds Committee, I’ve worked on issues involving roads, maintenance, county facilities, public property, and the infrastructure residents depend on.
Chemung County has a history worth protecting. During my first term, I helped move forward Budget Committee approvals involving:
The John Jones Museum
The Friends of the Elmira Civil War Prison Camp
Community Development Fund disbursements
These efforts support local history, tourism, community pride, and projects that strengthen Chemung County.
A lot of county government work happens in committee. That is where budgets are reviewed, projects are discussed, and many decisions begin.
During my first term, I served on:
Aviation Committee
Budget Committee
Buildings and Grounds Committee
Health and Human Services Committee
Highway Committee
Vice Chairman, Environmental Management Committee
These assignments have allowed me to be involved in issues that affect District 7 and all of Chemung County, including roads, public facilities, county spending, human services, aviation, environmental issues, and local infrastructure.
I ran on common sense, accountability, and results.
During my first term, I helped deliver funding for local improvements in the Town of Elmira, voted against pay raises for County Legislators, supported term limits, backed road and infrastructure improvements, and helped move forward funding for local history and community-development projects.
I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, but there is more work to do.
I will keep fighting for District 7, protecting taxpayers, supporting public safety, improving local infrastructure, and making sure the Town of Elmira has a strong voice in Chemung County government.
Common sense. Accountability. Results for District 7.
